About SAT
The SAT is used for admission to colleges, mainly in the United States. It is taken on a laptop or tablet in the Bluebook app at a test centre or school.
It has two sections, Reading and Writing (64 minutes, 54 questions) and Math (70 minutes, 44 questions), with a 10-minute break between them: 98 questions in 2 hours 14 minutes.
Each section has two modules of equal length. The first module has a mix of easy, medium and hard questions; how you do on it decides whether the second module is harder or easier.
Each section is scored 200 to 800 and the total is their sum, 400 to 1600. There is no pass mark and no penalty for a wrong answer.
