About CUET UG
The National Testing Agency conducts the Common University Entrance Test (Undergraduate) for admission to undergraduate programmes in Central Universities and other participating universities. The 2026 information bulletin is for the academic year 2026–27. There is no age limit set by NTA. A candidate who has passed Class 12 or an equivalent examination, or who is appearing in 2026, may sit, and must still meet whatever age and subject rules the university itself publishes. A candidate may choose at most five subjects, including languages and the General Aptitude Test, whether or not those were the Class 12 subjects. The fee depends on how many subjects are chosen.
The test is computer-based only. There are 37 subjects in all: 13 languages, 23 domain subjects and one General Aptitude Test. Every subject is a separate test paper of 50 compulsory multiple-choice questions, with its own 60 minutes. Papers held in the same shift are distinct from one another. A right answer scores 5 marks, a wrong answer takes away 1 mark, and a question left blank scores 0. If, after the answer-key challenge, more than one option is found correct, any one of those options scores 5. If a question is dropped, or none of its options is correct, every candidate who appeared is given 5 marks for it. Calculators are not allowed. Candidates with a benchmark disability who are eligible for a scribe are allowed 20 extra minutes for each hour; this practice timer does not add that time.
Only four subjects are on this site, each as its own timed section: English (subject code 101), the General Aptitude Test (501), Physics (322) and History (314). The other languages and the other domain subjects are not on this site. English is tested through reading comprehension (factual, narrative and literary passages of at most 300 words) and verbal ability (rearranging the parts, match the following, choosing the correct word, synonyms and antonyms). The General Aptitude Test covers general knowledge and current affairs, general mental ability, numerical ability, quantitative reasoning (arithmetic, algebra, geometry, mensuration and statistics), logical and analytical reasoning, and general science and environment literacy. Physics and History follow the 2026 domain syllabi, which NTA ties to the NCERT syllabus. The bulletin does not say how the 50 questions of a paper are divided among those topics, so the split on this site is only a way of covering the syllabus.
Question papers are set in English and in the language the candidate chose when applying; if the two versions differ, the English version prevails. On this site the English paper stays in English, with explanations in Hindi, and Physics, History and the General Aptitude Test are written in both languages. For a subject held in more than one shift, NTA converts raw marks into an NTA score by the equi-percentile method described in the bulletin. Universities prepare their own merit lists from that score. The NTA score of 2026 is for admission in 2026–27 only. These practice papers report raw marks out of 250 for each subject. They cannot produce an NTA score.
